Leaving CBS we will cycle via Pevensey, Hankham, Hailsham to Arlington. Coffee may be taken at
Hilliers.
After a leisurely hour at Arlington where refreshments are available or your own picnic, we will
return via Upper Dicker, Hailsham, Magham Down, Rickney to CBS.
The route is largely on quieter roads with exception of through Hailsham.
Level 2A, about 35 miles.
Suitable for road or hybrid bikes.

Battle/Mountfield/Penhurst

I would love it if you would join me for this delightful circular route which explores some beautiful countryside.

We will cycle from Battle, via Netherfield, Mountfield, Penhurst then back to Battle.

It’s about 20 miles, largely on quiet lanes with 1,900ft of climb.

As there is nowhere suitable en route for refreshments please bring a drink and snack. Back in Battle we can go to Great Park Farm for coffee/lunch.

Northiam garden safari

Leave Battle Abbey Green at 10am to cycle to Northiam to join in with their Garden Safari.

Some medium and gentle hills but not too many! We will be going at a steady Level-2A pace and aim to get to the Northiam Village Green by the Doctor’s surgery car park for 11am. Faster riders can join us there. Coffee at Will’s to start with and spend about 2 hours visiting the 5 gardens. The tickets are £5 which must be paid in cash. You can either walk or cycle to the gardens. Afterwards we will re-group to cycle back to Battle.

Please join me for a cycle with a break for coffee/tea/soft drinks and cake in my garden.
Meeting place will be at The Sailing Club, Bexhill.
We will cycle through Bexhill Old Town to Combe Valley Greenway and up to Henleys Down via Crowhurst. From there, we’ll drop down to Sidley and divert off to my home in Concorde Cl, Little Common. (11miles)
After time to relax and chat with coffee/tea/soft drinks and cake, we will go up along Turkey Rd, head down Peartree Lane to Cooden Beach Station and head along Cooden Drive back to The Sailing Club. (Total 16 miles).  My reccy route is here if you’re interested 🙂

Ride type Level 2A, approximately 1100 ft of climb.
Hybrid bikes are recommended as The Greenway is a little gravelly but I’ll be on my road bike with touring tyres for this ride.
Due to Covid regulations places are limited to 5.

Meeting place will be the junction of Haven Brook Avenue
(better known as the new link road to Ninfield) and Watermill
Lane.
We will cycle through Crowhurst to the cake destination.
After time to relax and chat we will return via The Greenway
to the original meeting point.
Ride type Level 2A, approximately 1100 ft of climb (most of
this is on the outward journey).
12 miles.
Hybrid bikes are best as The Greenway is rather gravelly.

Return of the Robertsbridge Circular (full)

I would love it if you would join me for this delightful circular route starting at Robertsbridge.
We will cycle via Salehurst, Bodiam Ewhurst Green, Northiam, (coffee stop at Will’s
Bakery), Beckley, Staplecross and Cripps Corner.
The route is about 20 miles largely on quiet roads with 1,600ft of climb.
The hill out of Salehurst is steepish but gets it out of the way before
coffee! The remaining route is undulating. Poppinghole Lane can be a ‘free
cycle’; done at your own pace.
There is the option for lunch/tea at Judges Robertsbridge on return.
We will follow the Club Covid guidelines so please bring your ICE details on a piece of
paper to hand to me, together with your mask, gel, basic first aid kit and tools.
Numbers will be limited to 5 so please book early if you would like to join me.

As the Mood Takes Us…

A relaxed ride out from Cooden to Eastbourne and circling back. Meet Cooden Beach Station at 10:00 ride to Eastbourne for coffee then probably up to Polegate and Hailsham looping back through Herstmonceaux for more coffee and then on to Ninfield and Bexhill. Return around 2:30pm. 25-30 miles. Grade 2a but we will adapt the route as we go to suit everyone’s energy levels. Road bikes or hybrids. Bring some snacks. Cooden Beach Station to Hailsham

Meet at Cooden Beach Station (CBS) at 10:30am, from where we will cycle to Hailsham Town Centre for a takeaway coffee from one of several good outlets near the Memorial.
Our route will take us to Hailsham over the marsh via Pevensey roundabout and Rickney. We will then return via the Cuckoo Trail, Langney and Pevensey Bay. The 25 mile circuit is mainly flat and will be ridden at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops. It is ideal for anyone getting back their fitness after lockdown.
The Clubs Covid Secure Guidelines will be followed, so please remember to bring your “Track and Trace” details together with your mask, gel, basic first aid kit, tools and ICE details.
