Glorious Glynde Circular

15/06/2022 - 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

Glynde Station

I’m really excited to offer this fabulous, largely off-road cycle again, which takes in some of the most iconic scenery that Sussex has to offer.
Starting from Glynde Station we will head to Firle (possible coffee stop) then follow the Old Coach Road to Alfriston. Coffee/lunch can be taken at Cadence in Litlington. From there we will cycle towards the Seven Sisters and climb to Seaford Head. There’s a tricky steep descent into Seaford, which can be walked. We will have a beach stop in Seaford for picnic/refreshments. Afterwards we will join the Egrets Way and follow the Ouse to Lewes. There will be another refreshment stop in Lewes if needed before we return to Glynde.
Please note most of this ride is off road and will need a hybrid or mountain bike. There are rough tracks, grass and gravel surfaces but also cycle routes on well paved surfaces.
This Level 3 route is 30 miles with 1,500 ft of climb. The pace will be leisurely, however the terrain is tiring at times. There will be lots of stopping for refreshments which can be purchased or brought with you plus stops to admire the views and take photos!
Leave Glynde Station at 10.30pm, return about 6.00pm.
Trains leave Hastings at 09.39, St Leonards 09.42, Bexhill 09.50 and arrive at Glynde at 10.26.
Return trains every 30 mins.
There is plenty of free parking in the car park near Glynde Station.
Please text Dawn (07870602277) if you’d like to join me and remember your ICE details and refreshments.
