Donation to Judy Beard Day Unit
1066 Cycle Club members rallied together for one of their members diagnosed with Breast Cancer to raise money for the Judy Beard Day Unit which treated her.
The Club raised an incredible £800 by challenging its members to ride either 100/200 or 300 miles during the month of April. Despite a month of torrential rain and strong winds club members were able to clock 4,459 miles with two cyclists riding more than 500 miles each. A fantastic achievement by all.
The £800 will be used by the Judy Beard Unit to purchase new heat pads to enhance patient comfort during administration of Systemic-Anti Cancer treatment.
Matron Hayley Bird thanked 1066 cyclists for their wonderful effort and generosity. Staff and patients on the unit will appreciate hugely the arrival of the heat pads to replace our old ones and provide more availability to more patients.
Well done 1066 cyclists!
