Short winter warmer

Join me on a shortish ride to keep your cycle legs going over the winter! We will leave Battle Abbey Green at 10am to cycle to Broad Oak, Brede. We will go through Sedlescombe and Whatlington. There are some biggish hills to cycle up. Bring a banana or mini snack for along the way. We will come back to Battle for a coffee and natter at 11.30. To book contact Sue 07952 166819

Winchelsea & Rye Harbour (Level-1 ride)

A gentle ride to have coffee at Rye Harbour. We will be following the National Cycle Network Route 2 to Winchelsea Beach and then on the traffic-free path through the nature reserve to our destination. The sea is on one side the lakes and wildlife on the other, hopefully plenty of winter waders. A truly special place. People returning to cycling are especially welcome. 11 miles in total.

To join Bill on this ride, text 07746 997193 to book in, or for any queries

Note, if you wanted a bit more of a longer ride, then Penny is organising a feeder ride beforehand, see here for details

Feeder ride (Pett Level to Winchelsea Station)

A feeder ride starting at Pett Level, which will to meet up with Bill’s level 1 ride.

The feeder ride will be a Level 2a with some hills, but nobody will be left behind.
Meet 9:30am at beach next to the 30mph speed change as you enter the village.

Please text me if you’re joining me for this rides.
Thank you, Penny

Bedgebury single-tracks

A ride around some of the single-track sections of Bedgebury forest. Mountain bike essential.
Could be muddy so dress appropriately, bring water and snacks.

Note: Anyone wanting to do the “family route” can do so, and meet for coffee afterwards. A hybrid bike will be fine for this as it’s not as muddy as the single-track sections.

LAST Thurs ride – BATTLE 6pm

Our last Thursday evening ride of the year, this week we are starting at 6pm

Whenever possible we will aim to have two ride groups every week; a short & easy ride, and another which will be a bit longer and faster. The leaders will describe the route(s) at the beginning and you can chose which one you want to go on.
Note that neither of the rides fall into what we call “Level 1” because there aren’t any routes we can use that are on the flat

No need to book, just turn up. Please bring lights and a bike lock if you have them

If you feel like leading a ride then let Sue, Chris or Dale know beforehand

Thursday Evening ride – BATTLE

Thursday Evening rides in Battle will run throughout the summer (except for the first week of every month, when they will be in Bexhill or Little Common)

As with previous years we will meet on the Abbey Green, ready to start riding at 6:30pm. We will cycle for about an hour, then return to Battle for an [optional] drink at a café or pub
