Level 2b ride from Battle to the meal

This ride is from Battle and will end up at the Whatlington pub at 12:00
The route will be Battle, Marley Lane to Sedlescombe, Westfield, Doleham, Brede then back across to Sedlescombe and then Whatlington.

17 miles to the meal, then a further 3 back to Battle.

 

Bexhill and Loom Mill

Bexhill to Bexhill via the loom mill on the Cuckoo trail for  refreshments or bring your own

Our ride will be over to Wartling via the Horsewalk, bear left, passing the sites of the historic RAF early 2nd world war radar sites and onto Rickney lane where we may well see birds of prey or even a kingfisher at the bridge across the stream ..calling at the loom mill for tea, coffee, and cheese on toast, lovely, or bring your own refreshments.. then return, passing by the historic Roman era and beyond, Pevensey Castle following the NCN2 coast route  back to Bexhill

About 27 miles in total

New Years Eve ride

As an antidote to all the Christmas food we will do a 28 mile loop through Penhurst, Herstmonceux, Pevensey, Bexhill. We are advertising this ride as Level 2b, but no-one will be left behind. Planning to be back by 3.00pm, coffee and snacks stop en-route, bring your lunch. A few hills in the first half and then reasonably flat.

If you are coming from Battle or Bexhill I may be able to coordinate some feeder rides if required.

Note, there is free parking at Catsfield village hall

Battle and Northiam loop

We will ride out to do a loop near Northiam. Back to Battle for 12 for coffee. Make sure you have water and cycle friendly snacks to eat along the way. Do join me and keep your winter fitness going. Lots of chat over coffee.
If the weather is severe the ride will be postponed or shortened.

Robertsbridge ride CANCELLED

Sorry, this ride has been cancelled.
Our route will be Brightling, Burwash, Stonegate, Etchingham, then back to Robertsbridge (all a bit hilly!)
Coffee stop at King John’s Nursery, but please bring drinks and snacks in case it’s not open early enough

Off-road adventure cross event. Booking required

A scenic ride through the Surrey hills, 60% off road; a mixture of bridleways, farm tracks and lanes. The event is fully way-marked, timed (although it is not competitive), and has feed stations. For more details please see here

Suitable for cyclocross and mountain bikes only.

I am have signed up for the 25 mile route and it would be great if other club members could join me. I can take a second person/bike in my car.

Through the Woods and Forest – MTB ride

Our route will be through Darwell Hole, The Observatory, Three Cups, Dallington Forest, Great Wood, Hollingrove, Darwell Wood.

Start point: Darwell Wood Car Park. From Netherfield, turn right at Darwell Hole and it’s a little way along on the right. Explorer Map 124, grid ref 696195.

14 miles with option to extend to 17 miles. Please wear shoes with plenty of grip, as the ground may be slippery

We can have a coffee stop at the Three Cups Inn, but please bring drinks and plenty of snacks to eat on the way round.

Please text David on 07709 620267 if you would like to come. This is essential since, if the weather is wet beforehand, we may cancel due to mud.

Rye and Tenterden 40-mile ride (Level 2B)

We will go out through Wittersham and Rolvenden to Tenterden for coffee and cake. Returning across the marshes to Lydd and then through Camber back to Rye. Please bring your lunch and snacks

Total of 41 miles, not too many hills but it can be windy!

Returning between 3.30 and 4.00pm.

We will be riding at a moderate pace, but no-one will be left behind!
