Children In Need ride (ours!)

Do join us for a fun, fundraising ride for Children in Need. Do wear fancy dress if you would like to but please make sure the clothes are suitable for bike riding too. The idea is to cycle gently along from Cooden Beach station leaving at 10am. Please bring something to put any donations in. You will get a Pudsey bear sticker or 2 ! You can join the ride on NCN 2 at Warrior Square by Goat Ledge cafe. We will leave Goat Ledge at 11.30.  Then on to Hastings for coffee/snack.After the break the group will cycle back to Bexhill.Total about 8 miles. Geof will collect any donations on behalf of the club and transfer the club’s total to Children in Need. To book in or any questions text Geof 07811098505.

An update from Geof, which changes things slightly…

Our legal advisor has made it clear we cannot lawfully collect donations from the general public. So what we shall do is, firstly have some fun and raise some money for this great annual event. All those taking part please give as much as you can to me and I will transfer this grand sum to Children in Need on behalf of the club. A big turn out please.

Winchelsea/Rye (Level-1)

We will begin our ride at Winchelsea Station at 11:45am and cycle into Rye via the Nature Reserve. Coffee stop in Rye. A lovely flat route with great scenery with a traffic free section of NCN 2 and a bit of practice on the road too. Some experienced members of the club in be on hand and  will be happy to answer questions you may have about riding technique, road positioning and cycling in a group.
We will be back at Winchelsea Station sometime in the early/mid afternoon.

Note: There will also be a “feeder ride” starting from Battle and arriving at Winchelsea Station by 11:45am, although the feeder ride will be at a “Level-2b” pace. Details are here

Level 1 ride: Coffee at Ocean View Cafe

Starting from Bexhill Colonnade, we will ride to our destination at the Ocean View Cafe in Pevensey Bay, which is 7 miles away.  (so 14 miles in total including the return)

If you’ve not been out on your bike for a while or don’t feel very confident, then this is the ride for you. There will be experienced riders to support you, and no-one will be left behind.

The club insists that you “book in” beforehand when coming on a ride, by contacting the ride leader (Heather, in this case. Her phone number is below)
Ideally, please let Heather know by Thursday morning if you are coming, so that we can give an approximate seating number to the cafe  (although they can always squeeze in a few extras!)
