Rye to Folkestone

Sat 1st June , 11:00 am

A Kentish Excursion
This is a train-assisted linear ride, starting at Rye and ending at Folkestone.

We’ll meet outside Rye Station. Trains from Hastings and Bexhill arrive 10:46, so we can start riding about 11:00. It would make sense to buy a return ticket to Folkestone Central Station.

The route follows the Military Road before heading up up the steep hill to Stone in Oxney, then on to Ham Street where we’ll stop for coffee and cake. We’ll undulate along the top of the hill at the back of Romney Marsh before we drop down into Hythe, and then climb all the way up again to Folkestone Leas, on top of the cliff.

About 30 miles, level 2b, suitable for road bikes.
