Sunday Beachy Head ride(s)
Sun 6th September , 10:00 am
Prompted by Cycling UK’s efforts (resulting in changes to their group riding policy), and the nights drawing in on the Thursday evening Rides, we have been working hard on getting our heads round putting Cub Rides back onto the weekend programme…
To get the wheels rolling Emma has devised a version of her favourite ride for Sun 6 Sep, for up to 12 people. The well-worn route starts at Cooden Beach Station 10am & will be finishing at the top of Beachy Head for a picnic brunch at around 11:30, approx 17 miles.
Having eaten, riders will then be responsible for making their own way back to the start. We’ll organise this return-group so you won’t be on your own. Expect to be back at Cooden around 2:00-2:30.
Emma will be leading a small group (max 6) on further for a longer ride back to Cooden via Jevington & Polegate, Overall distance around 36 miles. if anyone wishes to lead others back please let Emma know. If you would like to do the longer ride back with Emma please let her know when you book in.
Hopefully, this gives us a chance to meet up again & enjoy the vibes! But , obviously, there are guidelines & instructions we must follow:
1. All riders MUST book in prior to ride (the club insists this anyway, so it’s nothing new)
2. Every rider MUST hand their name, address, phone number & ICE contact, on a piece of paper, to Emma at the start, as Ride Leader & Covid Officer for this Ride.
3.All riders must carry face coverings, for use in an emergency when social distancing may not be possible or if needed to enter a space where mandatory face coverings required. It will be difficult to share tools so please try to have what you might need with you.
You will need to bring your own refreshments for the picnic, and please maintain social distancing when gathering at the start location and consider the needs of other members of the public who may be using the area. The Club also encourages safe social-distancing measures when making your way to and from the Ride.
I hope you are able to join me on Sunday and, as always, very much look forward to seeing you. Emma
p.s. Please note that I have a new phone number
