Easy mountain bike ride

Sat 4th August , 10:15 am

Event Navigation

An easy MTB ride, especially suitable for those that are less confident doing technical sections. If you find Bedgebury a bit challenging, this could be the ride for you!

Starting at Ham Street Station, this ride is mainly a mixture of country lanes and fairly decent tracks through the woods and forest. Some hills, but not many and nothing severe.

The route loops round through Ruckinge and Shadoxhurst and back to Ham Street, where there is a nice cafe.

About 16 miles all told, so probably about 2 ½ hours, plus time at the cafe.

Free parking at station and on roads nearby.

Medium distance, Mountain or hybrid bikes

Start from Ham Street Station at 10:15. The 09:26 from Hastings arrives 10:01 – but check for engineering work and strikes. (At present, the railway website can’t confirm the service will run, presumably it’s too far ahead at the time of writing.)
