The club’s AGM is an enjoyable and interesting event, which club members are encouraged to attend. There’s coffee and cake, and there will be a few rides on the day too.

There is the “official business” of the committee to start with, which involves reports from the main committee members, and a review of the past year. This is followed by the old committee standing down, and the election of new committee members.
After the official business there is an open Q&A session, talk about current issues and hot topics within the club, and ideas for the future. Our AGMs are usually well attended, and it’s a good opportunity to gather the thoughts from lots of members in the same place at the same time.
The AGM this year will be at the GUIDE HUT in Battle, which is on the recreation ground, North Trade Road. If you’re joining a ride (more details to follow) then the timing will have been worked out for you. If you’re arriving under your own steam then please be at the Guide Hut by 10:30 am ready for the meeting to start at 11am
The club is is always looking for new members to join the committee, either performing a fixed duty (e.g. chair, secretary, treasurer, ride coordinator, etc) or as a general committee member with no particular fixed role. A position on the committee is a rewarding experience, you’ll get a feel of the ‘behind the scenes’ work that goes on running our club. If you think you might be interested then do have a chat with any of the current committee members (Dale, Chris, David Jackson, David Newman, David Bird, Emma, Sheena, Heather, Dawn, Geof, John King, Karen, Steve or Sue) to see what it’s like !
The AGM is also a good time to renew your club membership if you prefer using cash or cheques. It’s £8 for an individual, or £15 for a family. Please put your payment in an envelope with your name on it, Penny or Dale can pay it in for you.
