Bike Maintenance day
A fun session of cycling, learning a bit about bike maintenance, a few cakes and cuppas, and good company of course. The maintenance sessions will be at Pashley Farm, which is on the west side of the A269, half a mile south of Ninfield. (about half way between the car wash place in Ninfield, and Skinners Sheds near Lundsfords Cross)
There are several ways of getting there :
- 10:30am at Battle Abbey green, a Level-2a ride taking an hour and a half, led by Dale. Please book in with Dale on 07713297691 if you plan to come on this ride
- 10:30am at the Colonade in Bexhill (also picking up at Cooden Beach Station at 11am), a Level-2a ride taking an hour and a half, led by Phillip. Please book in with Phillip on 07845968149 if you plan to come on this ride.
- You could drive to Pashley Farm, arriving at 12:00. Please let Rob know on 07759476843 if you plan to do this; this is purely so we know how many to cater for. You can still bring a bike along if you wish, if you want it adjusted.
You may want to bring a sandwich, but free tea and cake will be provided by the club. There will be four maintenance sessions, each one approx 20 minutes, and you will be able to see them all. Topics covered (as voted by you a few months ago) are Puncture repairs, bike safety checks / M-check, clean & lube bike chain, chain falling off, Gear changing problems, chain wear check & chain renewal, Brake & gear cables, a bike tool kit, adjusting and renewing rim brakes. There will be a teabreak half way through, and we hope to have finished by approx 2:30pm. There are rides going back to Bexhill and Battle (a shorter route going back)
